Avatar: The Last Airbender 3x19: The Old Masters
Too cute for words.
There is something about this screencap….there’s so much in there that words cannot even begin to express. The parallels between both couples is amazing; Zuko and Katara represent yearning and vulnerability, while Sokka and Suki represent comfort and familiarity. And yet I feel that the waterbender and the firebender are always rotating-dancing-around each other, creating the perfect pull of yin and yan yet always searching for that one special connection. Always searching for the love, comfort and understanding that could fill the hole left behind by the loss of their mothers (and so many other things). And I think subconsciously they have always felt that pull, that undeniable chemistry and unlikely-yet-so-right connection between each other that’s so strong they just don’t know what to call it or how to react to it. So they pass it off as friendship and mutal understanding, when in reality it has always been so much more. They are soul mates and I’ll always believe it, i don’t care how delusional I seem.
And I’m sorry if none of that made any sense.
I have some mixed feelings with the way that the fandom is choosing to handle with quote by David Faustino.
However, I think it’s wrong to brush off this dialogue that we are having because “it was a joke.”
Plenty of time, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or racist things have been brushed off…
